Kinja'd!!!

Just got a Sony ActionCam the other day. Downloaded a free video editor, and I'm glad no one is paying me, because I'm in over my head. This will take some time to learn. If anyone has any recommendations for easier to use (free)editors let me know.

What are you using it for/trying to accomplish? I'm not familiar with that program but I am sure you can look up guides for it.

I know of a few dandy free converters... the video editing software I use is mostly commercial software such as Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, AfterEffects, Sony Vegas...

Do you want a list of converters?

Not necessarily to convert video. I'd like to maybe make short films from drives/autocross. Doing quick cuts from different angles and the likes. I'll watch/read some tutorials in the future. I've only been messing with the program for about 45 minutes.

Okay, if all you're doing is trimming then that's easy. Give me the name of the program you're using, I'll be able to better help you then.

It's VSDC Free Video Editor from Flash-Integro.

Why not just use the Windows Movie Maker to do simple stuff?

Not gonna lie... that program is utter garbage. Complete crap. Get rid of it.

Give AVI Demux, VirtualDub, and MPEG Streamclip a try. (MPEG Streamclip is more of a converter, but it allows for cut, paste, trim). The downside is that VirtualDub spits out huge AVI files, however, nothing a converter cannot fix.

I'm not sure if Windows has it by default, I think I had to download it from MS and install it. It's free though! :D
